Sports Challenge On The Road: Taking Leadership Home!

If you’ve been around Strive for a while, you know that Sports Challenge is a special place. But guess what? That special sauce just got wheels. We asked our team – Coach KB, Coach Caroline, and Coach Nav – how this new Sports Challenge On The Road model will make an impact.

Same Mission, Bigger Impact

Krista, or Coach KB, hit the nail on the head when she said:

“With Sports Challenge On The Road, we get to work with both the students and staff at our partner schools and organizations. This enables us to work on intentional culture creation with our partners, resulting in a lasting impact well after we leave.”

Instead of leadership lessons ending when students head home, we’re now baking leadership directly into their daily environments – with the adults who support them every step of the way. Krista summed it up perfectly:

“This new model will put staff and students on the same page – in an environment where character-driven leadership can be practiced and honed.”

Where the People Are

Coach Caroline is all about accessibility, and this model takes it to the next level:

“Sports Challenge On The Road is another step towards increasing the accessibility of our programs. In its new format, we are bringing Sports Challenge directly to where our community is spending their time already.”

Instead of asking students and coaches to come to us, we’re showing up in their gyms, fields, and classrooms – making this leadership experience part of their world. Caroline adds:

“This massively increases the number of students and staff we will be able to serve through our foundational program, while centering what Strive does best.”

More Connection, More Inclusion

Emily, or Coach Nav, is especially excited about how this shift makes space for deeper relationships:

“Sports Challenge On The Road brings our mission directly to the communities we serve, making it more accessible and engaging for students who might not have otherwise participated.”

By meeting students exactly where they are, we’re opening doors to voices that might’ve been missed. Emily also sees big potential in the way we collaborate:

“This format allows for more personalized interaction and real-time culture development.”

So, what’s the real game-changer? Sports Challenge On The Road isn’t just about bringing a program to schools, it’s about embedding leadership into the DNA of teams, staff, and spaces students already know and trust.
