When Coach Emily and Coach Tiff arrived at Tower Hill School, the excitement in the air was contagious. As we set up on one side of the gym, we could already hear the buzz from the other side, filled with students chatting and wondering what we had planned for our session.
We started by gathering the middle schoolers into small groups around Coaches Emily and Tiff. The theme of the day? Gratitude. We kicked off with a simple question: What are you grateful for? The answers came quickly -family, friends, pets, and even favorite foods! But what really stood out was how many students talked about being grateful for the people who make them happy.
At Strive, gratitude is more than a buzzword. We know that practicing gratitude regularly can have a significant impact on your happiness and perspective. Leaders can motivate and encourage those around them by expressing genuine gratitude, creating a positive and appreciative culture.
With the help of the amazing teachers at Tower Hill, we moved on to some fun activities that helped the students reflect on their leadership qualities and get a little active in the process. The gym was full of laughter, movement, and excitement as students connected with each other and expressed their creativity.
By the end of the session, we were all grinning from ear to ear. The energy was high, the students were so engaged, and we were excited about the connections we made with these young “Hillers.” It was clear that Tower Hill is dedicated to shaping the leaders of tomorrow, and we are so grateful to be part of that journey.
We had a chance to chat with Caroline Feldman, a teacher and the Middle School DEI Coordinator at Tower Hill. When we asked her how the workshop went, she shared heartfelt thoughts about how it helps students become confident leaders and how much they enjoy the activities in our workshop.
We’re already looking forward to coming back to Tower Hill and continuing to support these awesome students as they grow into leaders of tomorrow!
