Celebrating Community and Connection: Our June 4 Bash at the CEB

On June 4, we hosted our first End-of-School-Year Bash at our office in the Community Education Building (CEB), and it was an absolute blast! We welcomed school administrators, teachers, and leaders from community-based organizations – all neighbors who share the CEB with us, for an afternoon of fun, food, and meaningful connection.

The energy in the room was incredible. We played character and leadership games, shared pizza, and had so many great conversations. We loved seeing everyone jump right into the activities with so much enthusiasm. There’s something really special about bonding through play – it brings out joy, vulnerability, and teamwork all at once!

Our Executive Director Caroline said it perfectly:

“It was so much fun to chat with our neighbors and get to know them more. Our goal in moving our office to the CEB was to build long-lasting relationships with the partners in the building so that we can directly meet the needs of Delaware’s youth.”

Throughout the afternoon, we had the chance to connect with folks from all parts of the building. As we talked, one message came through loud and clear: our work is more important than ever. The need to help students grow into socially and emotionally strong leaders is real and urgent.

It meant so much to us that people not only showed up but were excited to engage with what we do. That excitement fuels us as we head into a big summer, where we’ll be launching a Pilot for our new Sports Challenge model, deepening partnerships with schools and community-based organizations across Delaware and beyond.

We’re so grateful for everyone who came out and made the day special. We had a great time and can’t wait to host more events like this in the future. Here’s to building strong relationships, having fun, and supporting the leaders of tomorrow!
