Administrative Intern

Job Identification:

  • Permanent or Contract: Contract
  • Dates: January – May 2025
  • Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
    • Location: Wilmington, DE
      • Hybrid: primarily remote with approximately 25% of weekly hours designated for attendance at in-person events
      • In-person events include meetings at Strive’s office in Wilmington, DE as well as local programming and networking/recruitment events
  • Compensation: $15 per hour

Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Executive Director and Senior Director of Operations, the Administrative Intern will contribute to administrative tasks for Strive. 

Responsibilities:

  • Generally serve as administrative support to the Strive team
  • Assist with scheduling meetings
  • Attend meetings and take minutes
  • Data management
  • Assist with admissions processes for Strive programming
  • Assist with logistics for Strive programming
  • Contribute to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts including participating in DEI committee meetings
  • Assist with office inventory and organization

Qualifications:

  • Experience and interest in administrative and/or operational roles
  • Interest in working in the nonprofit sector
  • Interest in teaching, leadership development and/or social emotional learning a plus
  • Interest in sports and recreation a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Comfort with making cold calls and sending cold emails
  • Communication skills: written, verbal and visual 
  • Action-oriented: ability and desire to take direction and initiative
  • Ability to navigate Google Platform (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc)
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks

Expectations:

  • Strive asks that contractors utilize their personal laptop for Strive-related work, although it is not a requirement. If you do not have a laptop, please communicate this and we will lend you a laptop for work-related tasks.
  • Strive expects all contractors to have a reliable means of transportation to arrive on time to in-person events.
  • Strive will run a background check prior to contractor start date.
